PLANTING YOUR ATTENTION
Where you plant your attention matters. When it gets stuck in the weeds of worry, regret, and constant mental chatter, you feel agitated, resentful, or on edge. You lose a lot of sleep.
When your attention gets bogged down by algorithms, notifications, and unsettling news—your mind begins to feel overwhelmed and drained. Things that once felt meaningful can begin to feel distant or empty, often leading to a depressed mood and cravings for relief.
Want something different? Try planting your attention elsewhere. Or as the Zen master said: “Change how you see and see how you change.”
TENDING YOUR GARDEN
The practice of mindfulness helps you reclaim your attention and plant it back into the present moment—into the Now—where your happiness is waiting to bloom again. In many ways, this practice is like tending a garden.
Easy mind/body exercises help you prune back stressful distractions and refocus attention on cultivating nonjudgmental awareness. As you tend your inner garden, mindfulness takes root, strengthens, and gradually blossoms into a way of seeing that makes your life feel more open, alive, and joyful:
Your mind clears
Your body relaxes
Your mood naturally brightens
With regular practice, many other benefits start to flourish—such as better sleep, lower blood pressure, and maintaining healthy choices. And there’s plenty of research supporting these outcomes.
